This is a red prayer plant. It's the first house plant I ever owned and it's very special to me. My red prayer plant brings me joy when I think about how small it was when I purchased it compared to how large it has grown! The red prayer plant does not need much sunlight to thrive, which is one of the reasons I chose it.
The ponytail palm is another low light house plant and another one of my favorites! I love it's stubby looking trunk and the fun frilly leaves that pop out from the top. Another nickname for the ponytail palm is elephant's foot plant. During the summer, I do put it on my front porch just to get it a little extra sunlight.
The photo above is a Christmas Cactus. These are not your typical cactus. Chrismas cacti come from the rainforest so they require more water than a typical desert cactus. The pretty red blooms come out in the late fall and winter. The more drooping limbs your Chrismtas cactus has, the more blooms it will get!
